My Weather

My Weather is a free Firefox extension that provides current weather information and a 5-day weather forecast.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension uses, how that information is handled, and what third-party services are used to provide weather information.

1. Information We Use

My Weather does not require an account, registration, username, password, or personal profile.

When you search for a city, the extension sends the city name you entered to the Open-Meteo Geocoding API in order to find the corresponding location.

The extension may also use the latitude and longitude associated with a selected city to retrieve weather data.

2. Location Information

My Weather does not require access to your device's GPS or precise physical location.

Location information is based on the city or location that you search for or select within the extension.

This information is used only to retrieve weather information for the selected location.

My Weather does not sell, rent, or share location information with advertisers or data brokers.

3. Saved Cities

My Weather allows you to save recently selected cities for easier access.

Saved cities are stored locally in your browser using browser local storage.

These saved cities are not uploaded to a My Weather server and are not stored in a remote database operated by the extension developer.

4. Weather Services

My Weather uses Open-Meteo to provide weather and forecast information.

City and location searches may use the Open-Meteo Geocoding API.

The extension does not require an Open-Meteo API key or a user account.

5. Third-Party Services

Weather and geocoding requests are sent directly to Open-Meteo services when you use the extension.

Open-Meteo operates independently from My Weather. Information about how Open-Meteo handles requests may be found in its own policies and documentation.

6. Data Collection

My Weather does not intentionally collect or maintain personal information about its users.

The extension does not intentionally collect:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Passwords
• Account information
• Browsing history
• Advertising identifiers
• Payment information

7. Advertising and Payments

My Weather is free to use.

The extension does not contain advertisements, paid subscriptions, or in-extension purchases.

8. Data Security

My Weather does not operate a remote user database. Saved city information is stored locally in the browser.

Users should keep their browser and operating system updated to maintain the security of locally stored data.

9. Children's Privacy

My Weather does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
